Bullish and Bearish wolfewave pattern
Introduction to Wolfe wave Pattern
The Wolfe Wave Pattern is a technical chart pattern used in trading to predict future price reversals. It was discovered by Bill Wolfe. This pattern is based on the idea that markets move in a natural rhythm of supply and demand. When correctly identified, Wolfe Waves help traders find high-probability entry points and price targets.
Structure of the Wolfe Wave
A Wolfe Wave consists of 5 waves (5 price points) labeled as 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.
-
Waves 1–4 form a channel
-
Wave 5 is the final and most important wave
-
After wave 5, price usually moves sharply toward a target line called the EPA (Estimated Price at Arrival)
Conditions for Fulfilment of Wolfe Wave
For a valid Wolfe Wave pattern, the following conditions must be met:
-
Five distinct waves must be visible on the chart
-
Wave 1 to Wave 3 and Wave 2 to Wave 4 should form converging trendlines
-
Wave 3 must not exceed Wave 1
-
Wave 4 must stay within the range of Wave 1
-
Wave 5 should break the trendline connecting Wave 1 and Wave 3
-
The pattern works best in ranging or corrective markets, not strong trends
When all these conditions are fulfilled, the Wolfe Wave is considered reliable.
